A Historical-Comparative Linguistiсs Study of Category of Function Words

(Based on Examples in Mongolian and Turkic languages)

Abstract

This article examines the structure of postpositions inherited from Old Turkic into modern Turkic languages and their relationship with the Mongolian language. In addition, postpositions in Modern Mongolian are analyzed through comparison with materials from the written Mongolian language. According to scholarly periodization of the historical development of the Mongolian language, the language of the major extant written monuments belongs to the Middle Mongolian period. However, to date, no comprehensive study has fully covered the grammatical system of the monuments from this period. Nevertheless, a considerable number of reference materials addressing the vocabulary and, in some cases, grammatical constructions of these monuments have been published, and these sources form the basis of the present study. The article focuses on the morphological study of function words in Mongolian and, based on the collected data on postpositions, classifies postpositions at the level of word structure into derived and non-derived types. Special attention is also paid to cases in which words from other parts of speech are used with the function of postpositions.

Түүхэн харьцуулсан хэл шинжлэлийн хүрээнд туслах үгийн айг авч үзэх нь (Түрэг, монгол хэлний жишээгээр)

Хураангуй: Энэхүү өгүүлэлд эртний түрэг хэлнээс орчин цагийн түрэг хэлэнд уламжлагдан ирсэн дагавар үгийн бүтэц, тэдгээрийн монгол хэлтэй холбогдох байдалд дүн шинжилгээ хийв. Үүнтэй зэрэгцэн орчин цагийн монгол хэлний дагавар үгийг монгол бичгийн хэлний хэрэглэгдэхүүнтэй харьцуулан авч үзлээ. Өдгөө бидэнд уламжлан ирсэн монгол бичгийн хэлний томоохон дурсгалуудын хэл нь монгол хэлний хөгжлийн түүхийг үечилсэн эрдэмтдийн судалгаагаар дундад эртний монгол хэлний үед хамаарагддаг. Гэвч энэ үеийн дурсгалуудын хэл зүйг бүхэлд нь хамарсан цогц судалгаа одоогоор хийгдээгүй байна. Харин тухайн үеийн дурсгалуудын үгийн сан, зарим хэл зүйн бүтээврийг хамарсан лавлах шинжтэй бүтээлүүд нэлээд гарсан бөгөөд тэдгээрт тулгуурлан энэхүү судалгааг хийв. Өгүүлэлд монгол хэлний туслах үгийн хэлбэр зүйн асуудалд голлон анхаарч, дагавар үгийн талаарх цуглуулсан баримтад үндэслэн үгийн бүтцийн түвшинд дагавар үгийг үүсмэл ба эс үүсмэл гэж ангилан, мөн үгсийн аймгийн үгийг дагавар үгийн үүргээр хэрэглэсэн тохиолдлуудыг онцлон авч үзэв.
