About the Journal

Aim and Scope

Otgontenger Journal (OTU – Journal of Otgontenger) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by Otgontenger University.

The Otgontenger Journal publishes theoretical and applied research, innovative ideas, and reviews in the fields of education, the humanities, and the social sciences, as well as research articles, review articles, discussions, and book reviews, with the aim of disseminating research findings.

The journal accepts submissions in the following areas:

  • educational research, teaching and pedagogy, educational management, quality assurance
  • legal issues in the fields of law, human rights, public administration, criminal law, and educational law
  • social and economic development, organisational management, public and civic engagement issues
  • education for sustainable development and pressing development issues

The journal supports interdisciplinary and problem-based research, with particular emphasis on research methodology, theoretical foundations, innovative findings, and practical significance.

Article Processing Charge

The journal charges an article processing fee to cover the costs of DOI registration, peer review, and publication. This fee is payable by the author in accordance with the regulations in force for the academic year.

Peer Review Process

All articles submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial review. Those that meet the required standards are then subject to a double-blind peer-review process.

The review process is based on the following principles:

  • The identities of the author and the reviewer are mutually anonymous.
  • The article is evaluated through an independent, impartial assessment.
  • The article is usually evaluated by 2 (in some cases 3) reviewers
  • An editorial decision is made based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations.

Reviewers evaluate the article based on the following main criteria

  • significance and novelty of the topic
  • soundness of the theoretical basis and quality of the research methodology
  • logicality of the data, analysis, and interpretation
  • completeness of the literature review and appropriate use of citations
  • grammar and structural soundness

Publication Frequency

The journal is published twice a year in print and online.

Abstracting and Indexing

The journal will implement policies to be listed in national and international academic information databases and indexing systems, thereby increasing the open access and citation impact of its scholarly articles.
