Uzemchin dialect’s materials in the Laboratory of Mongolian philology database of the Institute of Language and Literature

Abstract

Since the 1950s, local dialect research departments have been operating in all aimags, soums, and farms and collectives in Mongolia. The Institute of Language and Literature of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has been conducting an annual research class on the study, collection, and analysis of folklore and dialects in rural areas. Thus, a new collection of written and magnetic recordings was created, and the work of putting these materials into research circulation, preservation, and protection was officially begun. In 1961, a Phonetic Laboratory and a library of written materials of folklore were established at the Institute of Language and Literature. Currently, the Laboratory of Mongolian philology database of the Institute of Language and Literature contains more than 20 folders of original materials used by the Institute of Language and Literature’s researchers in Dornod and Sükhbaatar aimags as part of their analysis department. Among these, there are two folders related to the study of üzemchin dialects. The first is the research materials of the research team led by Kh. Luvsanbaldan, which worked in Asgat, Khalzan, Ongon, Naran, and Dariganga soums of Sukhbaatar aimag in 1978. The second folder contains research materials from the research team led by J.Tsoloo, which worked in Bayantümen, Gurvanzagal, Sergelen, Khölönbuir, and Dornod aimag centers in 1979. This article will discuss the valuable research materials on the üzemchin dialect collected by senior scholars of local dialects in the two aforementioned analysis classes.

Ийнхүү Монгол улсын ШУА-ийн Хэл зохиолын хүрээлэн хөдөө орон нутагт аман зохиол, нутгийн аялгуу судлах, сурвалжлан цуглуулах шинжилгээний ангийг жил бүр томилон явуулах болсноор бичмэл болон соронзон бичлэгийн сан хөмрөгийг шинээр үүсгэж, эдгээр хэрэглэгдэхүүнээ судалгааны эргэлтэд оруулах, хадгалах, хамгаалах ажлыг албан ёсоор эхлүүлсэн байдаг билээ.
